Brothers, sisters and'friends were guests. Girls presented a program which included the reading of the Christmas story from St. Luke, Christmas' songs and games.

The girls served refreshments and gave each of the guest sa wash cloth mitt. The gifts were made in the shapes of animal heads and embroidered by the scouts. Mrs. Ernest Nelson and Mrs. Tom Hanna are the club leaders.

Trimble officiating. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City. Wilcox Funeral Home was in charge. The auditorium and basement of the church were filled for the service. Members of the Lincoln Loyal Lads 4-H Club, of which he had been a leader for the past 20 years, attended in a group.

Many former members of the club and leaders in county 4-H work, his County Farm Bureau associates as well as those associated with him in A. S. attended the service. Jane Duesenberg, organist, played selections. Flowers were arranged by Mrs.

George Law, Mrs. Cecil Pethick and Mrs. Art Seidel. Pallbearers were George Edgington, Wayne Larsen, George Law, Art Seidel, Raymond Reynolds and Bill Gump. Church ushers were Louis Crist and three members of his 4-H club, David Punke, Ronald Pethick and Delbert Juhl.

Mr. Fulghum was bjorn May 7, 1900, in Mason City, where he grew to young manhood. He was married to Genevieve Phipps of Mason City on May 9, 1920. Bride's Dress The bride, giverrin marriage by her father, wore a floor length white nylon net and lace dress over satin. The bouffant skirt was cle- with tiers of ruffles which extended to a pleated flounce of nylon net. Her headdress, set with seed pearls, extended to a fingertip veil. She carried a white Bible with streamers of ivy and pink feathered carnations. Mrs.

Victor Trafford, sister of the bride who was matron of honor, wore nylon net dress over pink taffeta, and corsage of white pompons. Miss Bonnie Harding, as bridesmaid, wore nylon net over matching blue taffeta and carried a corsage white pompons. Kenneth Lemke, Forest City, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was bestman, and David Punke was the bridegroom's attendant. Ushers were Victor Trafford and Arthur Juhl, Iowa Falls. Claudia Juhl, Iowa Falls, was the flower- girl.

Jon Matson was the candle- lighter. Mrs. Robert Shook wore navy blue dress with pink trim and a corsage of pink carnations at her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Albert Juhl, mother of the bridegroom, wore a charcoal print dress and a corsage of yellow and white pompons.

250 Attend About 250 persons attended the reception at the Parish Hall. Mrs. Freddie Pforr and Mrs. Leonard Juhl, aunts of the couple, poured. Fern Harding and Beth Hayter, aunts of the bride, cut the cake, Mrs.

John Hubacher was in charge of the guest book and Mrs. Ferd Matson and Mrs. Segard Hasfjord, the gifts. Guests attended from Iowa Falls, Dumont, Goodell, Thornton, Mason City, Manly and Forest City. The bride is a graduate of the Clear Lake High School and is now attending LaJames Beauty School, Mason City.

CLEAR LAKE Mrs. William Bickford and DuWayne Jensen Wednesday were elected worthy matron and worthy patron, respectively, by Park Chapter No. 35, Order of Eastern Star. Other officers chosen were Mrs. Paul Riley, associate matron; Harold Miller, associate patron; Mrs.

DuWayne Jensen, conductress; Mrs. Stanley Bowen, associate conductress; Mrs. Willis Miller, secretary, and Mrs. Harry Mason City, treasurer. Public installation will be held Jan.

4 at p.m. at the Masonic Temple. A practice for both old and new officers will be held at the temple, Jan. 2, at 7:30 p.m. Mrs.

George Fuller, retiring worthy matron, gave her annual report. One member was initiated. Members brought food and gifts for the welfare baskets. The meeting was preceded by 6:30 dinner served by Mr. and Mrs.

C. Hansen. Tables were decorated with Christmas greens and candles. Set Circle Meetings of Zion Church CLEAR ten circles of Zion Lutheran Aid will elect officers in January at organization meetings in various homes. Mrs.

Howard Knutson, aid president, has announced hostesses and when each circle will meet. Priscilla Circle will meet at 8 p.m. Jan. 10 at the home of Mrs. John Roed with Mrs.

Tom Joslyn as co-hostess; Naomi Circle will meet at 8 p.m. Jan. 11 at the home of Mrs. Virgil Knorr with Mrs Theodore Saucke, co-hostess. Scheduled to meet at 2 p.m.

Jan. 18 are Miriam Circle at the home of Mrs. Jens Jensen; Eunice Circle, Mrs. Ed Levisay, hostess, and Mary Circle, Mrs. William Townsend, hostess.

Dorcas Circle will meet Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Archie Larson with Mrs. Lloyd Johnson as co-hostess.

Circles meeting Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. are Ruth Circle, Mrs. C. O.

Lomen, hostess; Lois Circle, Mrs. Harold Anderson, hostess; Sarah Circle, Mrs. Alfred Smith, hostess, and Martha Circle, Mrs. Herman Erznoznik, hostess. Ahrens Jailed on Petty Larceny Charge Ahrens was picked up by Franklin County Sheriff Lee M.

Lemke on charges of petty larceny in connection with the theft of some gasoline. Ahrens was fined and costs, but in lieu of the fine was committed to the Franklin County jafl in Hampton for nine days. BURNED Crawford was seriously burned when he fell against a hot stove during a seizure. The interior of the room was badly burned and Crawford was barely able to crawl from the house. Ames Quits Lake Zoning Commission CLEAR A.

Ames resigned from the zoning commission Thursday night to accept the post as a five year member of the city board of adjustment. Mayor JVI. A. Hintzman will make another appointment to the zoning commission. Approval of the five man board of adjustment, Jack year; Fred Steffen, two years; Dr.

Earl Sargent, three years; Carroll Anderson, four years, and Ames, five years, was made by the council. The John Baago plat containing property north of the fish hatchery was accepted and the city joined in the dedication. The city owns a small pie-shaped area at the east end of the tract which is a part of the street. Several homes, a cabin camp, oil station and building are located on the tract. Councilman Seymour Hall received a request from local individuals asking for the closing of some city streets for sliding for the children.

The council considered several locations and decided that the hill into MacGowan Park is the best place for sliding inside the city limits. The council and mayor will be sworn in Jan. 3 at noon for another term of office. The next regular meeting of the group is Dec. 30, 8 p.m.

Meetings in 1956 will be held the first Friday of each month. Rotary Club to Give Flag to Cub Pack CLEAR E. W. Day gave a Christmas message for Rotary Club Thursday at tha dinner meeting at the All Veterans Social Center. The club will purchase a Hag for Cub Scout Pack 203.

Guests were Roger Nelson and Steve Schultz. A letter from a member, Sylvan Hugelen, a patient at Rochester hospital, was read. Christmas Party Held for Surf Employes CLEAR Surf Ballroom management Thursday night entertained employes at dinner at the All Veterans Social Center. About 40 attended. Dancing and games formed the evening's entertainment.

The employes gave a piece of luggage to Carroll Anderson, manager of the Surf Ballroom, as a Christmas gift. KILLED KELLEY Luther Severtson, Kelley, was killed in a freak accident as he was having his cattle weighed at a stock yard in Ames. He was standing behind a gate when some of the cattle slipped on the ice and fell against the gate, knocking Severtson down. He died almost instantly of a fractured skull. Mrs.

Newell Dies at Home; Buried at Shell Rock ALTA services for Mrs. Elmer Newell, 64, who died at her home one mile west of here Tuesday, were conducted in the Evangelical United Brethren Church Friday. The Rev. Robert Carey officiated. Burial wns in Riverside Cemetery at Shell Rock.

Pallbearers were Dr. B. L. Caudill, Flatjord, John Meirick, Donald O'Donnell, Albert Lauck and Harry Schulz. Ethel Eldora Enfield, daughter of George and Nora Enfield, was born March 17, 1891, at Lynvillc.

She married Elmer Newell at Newton, Oct. 17, 1010. They moved to Alta Vista from Shell Rock 16 years ago. Survivors are her husband and three children, Mrs. Cecil (lola) Stokes, Newton; Morgan, Minneapolis; and Joe Newell, Madelia, one brother, Elga Enfield, LeRoy, one sister, Mrs.

Myrtle McClain, Minneapolis, and eight grandchildren. One son, Doyle, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Services Held at Charles City for Clyde Brown CHARLES services will be held at the Hauser Funeral Home here Saturday at 2 for Clyde W. Brown, 73, Downers Grove, 111., Who died suddenly at his home Wednesday following a heart attack. The Rev.

Edwin Arnold of the.First Congregational Church, will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Brown for many years was engaged in the mercantile and banking business in Sibley until he retired in 1942 and moved to Downers Grove. For the past 10 summers, Mr. and Mrs.

Brown visited here with the Elmer Waller family and Mrs. Bessie Smith, who are Mrs. Brown's brother and sister. Survivors include his wife, a son, Wistow Brown, Dallas, and a daughter, Helen Gertrude Brown, Downers Grove, HI. There is one grandchild and a sister surviving, Mrs.

Catherine Spaulding, Kansas City, Mo. Henry Jorstad Rites Were at Eagle Grove EAGLE services for Henry Jorstad who died Tuesday at his home in Eagle Grove, were held Thursday afternoon at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. B. F.

Molstre officiated at the services Which were arranged by Kestlers Funeral Chapel. Mr. Jorstad is survived by his sister, Rebecca, Eagle Grove, with whom he made his home, and a brother, Dr. E. O.
