Thurs Jessie Morphew CLEAR LAKE Jessie Morphew, 98, of Clear Lake, formerly of Mason City, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. The body was cremated. Graveside services will be in the spring at the Rock day at the Greek Orthodox Church of 1311 Second St. S.W., Mason City, with the Rev.

Joseph Mirows-ki officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Ceme well Cemetery. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth Clear Lake, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Papantonis Morphew Elizabeth Kroc MASON CITY Elizabeth Kroc, 96, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) at the Heritage Care Center, Mason City. A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev.

Dennis Cahill of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Calvary Cemetery, Austin, Minn. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the Mass Thursday.

Elizabeth Kroc was born Nov. 22, 1903, in the New HamptonLawler area, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Dok-endorf) Nugent. On June 4, 1938, she was united in marriage to Louis J. Kroc at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mason City.

He preceded her in death on Aug. 8 1962. Elizabeth resided in Austin, until the late 1970s, when she moved to Mason City. In Austin she was a charter member of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She participated in the Rosary Society and was a member of the St.

Zita Unit of the church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW No. 4903, Austin, Minn. Elizabeth was a great lady who easily made friends and will be dearly missed. She is survived by one sister, Agnes Louise deBuhr, Mason City, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and all of her other brothers and sisters.

Laura Kahler BANCROFT Laura Kahler, 82, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) at The Heritage Nursing Home, Bancroft. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, Bancroft, with the Rev.

John Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Bancroft.

A rosary service will begin at 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Laura was born on Aug. 28, 1916, in Maple River, the daughter of Anthony and Josephine (Lampe) Lappe. She moved to the Bancroft area as a young child with her family.

Laura attended rural school and helped on the family farm. Laura was married to Herman Kahler on Nov. 12, 1935, at Bancroft. They farmed east of Bancroft all their married life. Herman died in 1996.

She was a long-time member of the St. John Catholic parish and was a member of the St. John Altar Society. Laura became a resident of The Heritage Home in November 1998. Laura is survived by three daughters, Donna Hellman and her husband, Dennis, of Burt, Barbara Ruzicka and her husband, Richard, of Belleville, 111., and Betty Hansen and her husband, Carl, of Blue Earth, six sons, Albert Kahler and his wife, Mary, of Titonka, Tony Kahler and his wife, Lael, of Bancroft, Richard Kahler and his wife, Delores, of Britt, Allen Kahler and his wife, Debra, of Swea City, Kenneth Kahler, and his wife, Elaine, of Burt, John Kahler and his wife, Pam, of Bancroft; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Loretta Kramer of Algona, Florence Kramer of Muscatine, Marie Clapsaddle of Olympia, and Irene May and her husband, Richard, of Engelwood, and one brother, Joe Lappe and his wife, Mary Lou, of Wesley.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Lawrence, Louis, Francis and Alious Lappe; and a sister, Louise Goche. Winifred Clark OSAGE Mrs. Donald G. (Winifred) Clark, 86, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Osage, with the Rev. Arthur L. Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church Friday.

Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of the arrangements. Winifred was born Sept. 30, 1912, in Riceville, the daughter of Willard and Bertha (Smalling) Tyrrell. She attended Riceville schools and graduated from Riceville High School in 1929. She took two years of business classes in Osage and completed her bachelor's degree at Upper Iowa University.

Winifred was a teacher in different rural schools in Mitchell County and later taught in Mitchell and Osage. She was united in marriage to Donald G. Clark on May 5, 1934, at Ames. Winifred was a member of, D.A.R., 50-year member of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of A.D.K.

Sorority and the First United Methodist Church, Osage. She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Clark, Osage; two daughters, Marijane Bowman, Rock Island, 111., and Shari Moulder and her husband, Robert, Eden Prairie, one sister, Harriet Oster, Torrance, a brother, Scott Tyrrell and his wife, Olive, Tucson, a sister-in-law, Violet Tyrrell, Spencer; and four grandchildren, Charles Moulder, Jack Moulder, Tara Moulder and Meghan Moulder. Winifred was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary; an infant brother, Wesley; an infant sister, Marjorie; a brother, Donald Tyrrell; and a sister Mrs. Merrill (Helene) Kel-ley.

Papantonis was born Dec. 25, 1906, in Sparta, Greece, daughter of Konstandinos and Ourania (Theofanopoulou) Rogakos. She married Paul Papantonis on Feb. 27, 1930, in Megalopolis, Greece. Voula arrived in Mason City from Greece as a new bride.

She eagerly pursued learning the English Language and received her naturalization papers, of which she was proud. She was a devoted wife and mother, enjoyed owning and operating the Green Mill Restaurant with her husband, Paul, and delighted in supporting her children in their school and extra-curricular activities. She was a room mother, PTA member and volunteered her talents and time to her children's activities. Her service to the community included serving on the YWCA board, Grandmother's Club, Red Cross Gray Ladies and Mason City Woman's Club. She was a charter member of the Daughters of Penelope and served in many capacities.

She was a member of the White Shrine, PEO, Eastern Star, MacNider Museum, United Church Women and Philoptochos. She was an untiring worker for her church. Voula loved to entertain at home and was a gracious hostess and excellent cook. In the last few years, she had the time to pursue her interest in painting and ceramics. She loved Mason City.

Voula touched many lives and left her mark on the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her genuine and sincere love and concern for people, especially her family. Survivors include one daughter, Kalliope Jolas, of Mason City, one son, Anthony Papantonis and his wife, Judy, of Westcliffe, five grandchildren, Van Jolas and his wife, Leigh, of Dallas, Texas, Stephanie Durkin and her husband, Michael, of Sterling, Paul Jolas and his wife, Apryl, of Dallas, Texas, Christie Chase and her husband, Chris, of Dallas, Texas, and Jodie Rasicot and her husband, Jim, of Minnetrista, three stepgrandchildren, Debbie Anderson and her husband, Dan, of Sturges, S.D., Dave Page and Sharon Kjellberg, of St Paul, and Patrick Page and his wife, Cindy, of Galena, five great-grandchildren, Mark and Grace Jolas, both of Dallas, Texas, Austin and Kendall Chase, both of Dallas, Texas, and Jamie Rasicot, of Minnetrista, four step-great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Sena Anderson, both of Sturges, S.D., and John and Sarah Page, both of Galena, one sister, Maria Giannopoulou, of Athens, Greece; and a niece and nephews in Greece, Anthony Papantonis, Kallie Pussadeos, and Theodore Giannopoulos. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Siotsema Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont, with the Rev, Carl Gearhart officiating. Burial will take pluco at Hampton Cemetery. Bern ice Dnvis was born Nov. 20, 1916, in White Water, Mont.

She is survived by two daughters, Joanne Rutter, Wuterloo, and LaDonna FroKt, Gilbertville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She wus preceded in douth by her purents, huHband, four brothers and four grandchildren. Mason City, or to Hospice of North Iowa in her name. Jessie was born July 26, 190(V in, Alexander, the daughter of Fred and Ida (Holman) Dull. She married Vera Morphew in 1923.

She had lived in Mason City since the age of seven. In the summer of 1986, she moved to Clear Lake to live by her sister, Beth. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mason City, and was an Eastern Star. She enjoyed many hobbies and crafting. Jessie is survived by four grandchildren, Michael Morphew, of Upland, Charles Morphew, of Whittier, Mary Engelsen, of San Dimas, and Carol Garrity, of Goose Creek, S.C.; 11 greatgrandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Beth Hanson, of Clear Lake.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vera; her son, Clinton Morphew; seven brothers, Ross, Rollo, Harry, Herbert, Ralph, George and Stillman Dull; one sister, Stella Magoon; and one niece, Viola Moen. Margaret Ransom CHARLES CITY Margaret (Mrs. Harland) Ransom, 76, of 306 Fifth died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a sister and a grandson. Eugene "Ben" Burney CHARLES CITY Eugene "Ben" Burney, 73, of 911 Eleventh died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City, with Monsignor Walter Brunkan, pastor of St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Greene, officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery with a flag presentation by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City. A vigil scriptural wake service will begin at 7 p.m.

Meyer ROCKWELL Paul F. Meyer, 84, of 5756 Thrush died Tuesday morning (Jan. 19, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City. Funeral services are tentatively planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday, at St.

Peter Lutheran Church, Rockwell. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Fullerton Funeral Home, Rockwell, where other arrangements are incomplete. Trager Club Notes from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Eileen Trager was born July 24, 1933, at Goodell. Survivors include her children, Becky Tvedt and Stacey Trager, of Britt; three grandchildren; three brothers, Larry Langlitz and Kenneth Langlitz, of Goodell; and William Langlitz, of Garner.
