Gast, assistant manager of the Cecil theater, Mason City, near her home in Essex, England, Sept. 21.

They.are shown here at the bride's home. Mrs. Gast met her husband 3 years ago when he was serving with the U. S. 8th Army Air Force in Essex.

C. H. Wright, 408J Federal, announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary, to Robert M. Cole of Sioux City, which took place at the Holy Family church Sept. 19, the Rev.

Edward Riley officiating at the single ring ceremony and nuptial mass. A group of children from Holy Family school sang seteral selections including Domina Mea," Lord I Am Not Worthy" and "I Need Thee Gracious Jesus." Miss Anne Marie Wright was her sister's bridesmaid and Ralph Benton of Sioux City was best- man, uon kauer ana KODeri ftyan served as altar boys. The bride wore a white wool dress and carried a white prayer book and a bouquet of gardenias and white carnations. She had a wreath of the same flowers in her hair. The bridesmaid wore aqua blue with a corsage of Talisman roses.

Mrs. wngnt, moiner oi me bride, had black and a corsage of pink roses. A wedding reception was held at the Green Mill following the ceremony and 20 relatives and friends were present. A 3-tier wedding cake topped by a miniature bridal couple centered the table which was decorated with white carnations. Mrs.

Cole was graduated from Mason City high school and is a sophomore at the University of Iowa. Mr. Cole was graduated from high school in Sioux City and has just returned to the University of Iowa after service in the navy. Following a sbort trip, they will be at home in Sioux City. Out of town guests at the wed ding were Mr.

and Mrs. Earl Rob inson of Missouri, the brides uncle and aunt. MARJORIE MAE N1SSEN ENGAGED TO MARRY Iowa Falls Mr. and Mrs. A.

Nissen of Iowa Falls announce the engagement of their daughter, Marjorie Mae, of Oakland, Cat, and Ersell H. Perrin of Oakland, son of Mr. and John Perrin of Aberdeen, b. Dak. Miss Nissen attended Iowa State Teach ers college at Cedar Falls one year, and the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.

For the past 3 years she has been em ployed in the offices of the Betn-lehem Alameda shipyards. Mr Perrin, recently discharged from military service after serving years, is an accountant. The Nis sen family formerly lived at Me- servey. WEDDING IS PLANNED BY ACKLEY COUPLE Ackley Mr. and Mrs.

J. Cameron of Des Moines will address the Mason City Garden club on "The Place ot Floral Shrubs in the Garden" at a meeting Thursday evening at 7:45 in the P. G. E. auditorium.

Members of the club will assemble for dinner at 6 o'clock Thursday evening at the Hotel Hanford honoring Mrs. Cameron. All officers of the club are expected to attend the dinner and any members who wishes to, as well. Reservations may be made with Mrs. Harry Swarner before Wednesday, Geraldine Davidson Weds Joseph Beneke Osage Geraldine Davidson, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Edward Davidson, became, the bride of Joseph S. Beneke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C.

Beneke, Orange, Texas, Saturday, at the Osage Methodist church. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Glenn Hartong. Mary Ellen Rickels played the organ, and Bethel Arickx sang, accompanied by Miss Rickels. Matron of honor was Ms.

Dean Lewis of Lyle, Minn. Flower girl was Ann Penney, ring bearer, Robert Davidson, brother of the bride. Attending the bridegroom was Ensign Burt N. Noah of Minneapolis. Ushers included Darrell Wherry and Darrell Davidson, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home. Mrs. John Davidson poured and Mrs. Earl Penney presided at the punch bowl. After a wedding trip to Minneapolis, they will be at home, temporarily, in Osage.

The bride was graduated from the Osage high school and from the Hamilton School of Commerce. She served in a secretarial capacity for the U. S. Army Air Corps, Dayton, Ohio, and for the Fed eral Reserve board, Washington, D. C.

The bridegroom was graduated from the Orange, Texas, high school and attended Sam Houston college, Huntsville, Texas, until his entry inta service, in 1942. He served in the Pacific and was discharged in July with the rank of lieutenant, (j. Sara Stevens, Gladys Price, Mrs. Glad-ice Sears, Mildred Miller, Charlotte Lookingland and Loretta Welsh, president of the Mason City club. Speakers for the day were Miss Scott who talked on her work as the state federation program coordinator chairman, and Mrs. Sears, whose subject was the Modern Woman. Reports by the public affairs committees in the individual clubs were given.

Group singing and a woman's trio consisting of Ann Kruse, Wilma En- elkes. and Olga Buseman, accom panied by Ann Morrison provided music for the occasion. At tables decorated with nut cups and flowers in keeping with the season, a pot-luck dinner was served. Sara Lee Yoder of Grundy Center was given a vote of thanks by the group for her work in mak ing the meeting possioie. Announcements concerning the observance of National Business Woman's week were given.

On October 26, in the Hanford hotel, Dr. Lena Madsen Philipps, inter- ational president of Business and Professional Woman's clubs, will be the speaker at a dinner meet ing. Later dates significant to Business and Professional Women of this district will be the board meeting in February and the dis trict meeting in March. RITA ANN BROWN TO WED TUESDAY Decorah Miss Rita Ann Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

William J. Brown of Ridgeway, and Ken neth Wayne Rude, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Rude of Decorah, will be married Tuesday morning at St. Benedict's Catholic rectory by the Rev.

Daniel O'Sullivan. She will be attended by Miss Jane Ryan, maid of honor, and Mrs. Harry Olson, sister of the bride groom. Harry Olson win be Best man and Harold Riley of Chicago will be usher. The wedding break fast will be served at the home of the bride's parents.

They will make their home in Decorah. B. circle of the First Methodist church entertained at tea Sunday afternoon in the Decker room of the Y. W. C. honoring Miss Evelyn Stanley, who is leaving Mason City to take up her new work in Omaha.

A short program was presented during which Miss Nellie Padden played violin selections, accompanied by Mrs. Bertha Patchen, and Mrs. R. L. James read one of her own short stories and a poem honoring Miss Stanley.

Mrs. George Andrick presented a gift to Miss Stanley from the group. Garden flowers decorated the tea table where Miss Ethel Miller and Miss Nadine Hansen poured. Golden Anniversary Observed by Noels Calmar Mr. and Mrs.

Matt Noel celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday with a dinner in their honor served at noon for 100 guests at the St. Aloysius church auditorium. They had open house at their home from 2 to 5 p. m. Mr.

Noel, 77, and Mrs. Noel, 76, were married at North Washington, Sept. 26, 1896. They are the parents of 9 children: Leo, Calmar; John, New Hampton; Albert, Plattsville, Frank, Greene; Joseph, Waterloo; Mrs. John Barnett, Mason City; Mrs.

Kai Sommers, Dubuque; Mrs. Leo Buscher, Portland, and Mrs. Ray Wolsted of Sioux City. There are 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr.

Remove shells and cut in half lengthwise.

Re move yolks and cut whites into fourths. Pick over oysters and cook in saucepan until edges curl. Toast bread and cut into points. Keep warm until needed. Cut bacon squares and panfry until crisp.

Remove from pan. To 2 tablespoons bacon fat add flour and oyster liquid combined with milk to make one cup. Stir until sauce boils, add hard cooked egg whites, bacon, oysters and salt and pepper When very hot turn into serving dish, sprinkle with hard cooked egg yolks rubbed through a sieve and surround with toast points. Grenadine Sponge 1J tablespoons gelatin 1 cup cold water cup boiling water 2 cups crushed pears or peaches i cup grenadine syrup 1 cup sugar Few grains salt 2 egg whites Salted almonds, chopped Whipped cream Soak gelatin in pold water and dissolve in boiling water. Add pears or peaches and grenadine syrup and sugar.

When mixture begins to stiffen, beat until light and add a few grains of salt. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Turn into individual molds and chill. Serve sprinkled with chopped salted almonds and garnish with whipped cream. Robert L.

She also wore a gold bracelet, a gift from the bridegroom. The brides maid. Beatrice Lysne, sister of the bride, was attired in a brown wool suit with brown accessories.

Her corsage was of yellow roses and daisies. Arthur Olson, Moose Lake, attended his brother as best man. Lawrence Lysne, brother of the bride, served as usher. The bride's mother wore a black dress with black accessories and the bridegroom's mother, a green dress with black accessories. Each had a gardenia corsage.

Following the ceremony, a re ception was held at the church parlors. Out of town guests were Mrs. Ludwig Olson, Moose Lake, Eileen Olson, Marshall, Agnes Olson, Minneapolis, Arthur Olson. Moose Lake, and Mrs. Herbert Moe, Janesville, Wris.

The bride wore a brown gabar dine suit with brown accessories for her going away outfit. After short wedding trip to Chicago, they will be at home at 1434 East State. Mrs. Olson is a nurse at the Park hospital, and Mr. Olson is employed at the Standard Oil company.

She is employed in the National Farm Loan office Mr. Halverson was graduated from West Union high school and at tended Upper Iowa university un til entering service in November 1942. He was honorably discharged in November, 1945, and is assisting his father at farm work and in the livestock business SURPRISE PARTY HELD ON 10TII ANNIVERSARY About 50 neighbors and relatives gathered at the Dale Dunlap home 3 miles northeast of Mason City Saturday night for a surprise par ty on their 10th wedding anniver sary. A gift was presented to the Dunlaps and refreshments were served.
