Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at WardVan Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Family suggest memorials be directed to the Grace Hoel Memorial Fund. Grace was born in Kanawha, the daughter of John and Johanna (Venninga) Cooper. She graduated from Kanawha High School and then worked for Dr. Judd. On Nov.

24, 1927, she married Orel Hoel in Kanawha. They moved to Clear Lake, then moved to a farm south of Ventura, and later to an acreage at Ventura. After retirement they moved to their home in Clear Lake. Grace was a member of United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, United Methodist Church Women and also a member of the Sorosis Club. She loved working for her church, having her grandchildren visit and having coffee with friends.

Grace leaves her daughter, Marilyn Meyer and her husband, Jim, Clear Lake; three grandchildren, Candy Pitkin, Clear Lake, Brad Meyer and his wife, Nancy, Apple and Tim Meyer, Clear Lake; one great-granddaughter, Kathryn Meyer, Apple Valley, one sister, Gertie Knoll and her husband, Bud, Mason City; one brother, William Cooper and his wife, Muriel, Clear Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1984; two sisters, Hattie Smidt and Annie Abbas; and seven brothers, Ubbo, Art, Gratus, George, John, Albert and Jim. Gary lived in Webster City since 1992, in Stratford and before that in rural Forest 'City. He was a farmer and had worked for the city of Webster City. He married Joyce Banner on June 18, 1994. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City.

Gary is survived by his wife, Joyce Frein of Webster City; three daughters, Sheila Baldwin of Iowa City, Amy Frein of Algona and Kris Frein of Garner; his mother, Dorothy Frein of Forest City; three brothers, Thomas Frein of Plainsboro, N.J., James Frein of Mason City and Donald Frein of Farmington, and a sister, Kathy Matson of Clear Lake. Bertha was born Sept. 18, 1924, to John S. and Alma S. (Gordon) Johnson in Lyle Township, Mower County, Minn. She married Hughbert Barclay Feb.

15, 1944. Mr. Barclay died suddenly of a heart attack Feb. 17, 1970. Bertha was a homemaker and a member of St.

Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and volunteered at the Salvation Army. Horse show helps Make a Wish Foundation MASON CITY A herd of Paso Fino horses will strut its stuff tonight for the Make a Wish Foundation in the indoor horse arena at the North lowa Fairgrounds. Cindy Sullwold of Minneapolis, who helped coordinate the free show, said the presentation, which starts at 7 p.m., celebrates youth and the spirit of Make a Wish children. The Make a Wish Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises money to help critically or seriously ill children achieve lifelong dreams.

The show will feature a youth parade, a presentation by local Make a Wish representative Donna Cline, a horse show, and a drill team exhibit. Sullwold said the special attraction of the evening will be Teeka the trick horse which will perform with its rider to the "Blues Brothers" theme. Sullwold said the show is appropriate for the Make a Wish Foundation because Paso Fino horses have very strong spirits much like Make a Wish children. She said the show is being held to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation and all donations received will go to Make a Wish children in the Mason City area. By Zach Jensen 4-H Foos Stand ceremony to be held MASON CITY The ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the new 4-H Food Stand and Learning Center at the North lowa Fairgrounds in Mason City will be held at 5 p.m.

Monday at the new building. Refreshments and an open house will follow the ceremony. The center was constructed by the Cerro Gordo County 4-H Foundation. Fund-raising to pay for the new building is 90 percent completed. The building has 3,200 square feet of space and is equipped with a kitchen, three restrooms, two storage rooms, a utility room, and a large meeting room.

These are American Contract Bridge League sanctioned games managed by certified directors. Social and duplicate players are welcome. The North lowa Touring Club will hold its Wednesday bike ride July 26. Bikers will depart from the Clear Lake sea wall at 5:30 p.m. Two groups ride one rides 15 to 25 miles for enjoyment and conversation. The other group rides 25 to 35 miles for speed, team work and training. The group has dinner together after the ride at the Town Pump.
