CAN Doz. Bennetts Home From Trip East EAGLE and Mrs. V. Bennett find sons have returned from a vacation spent in Norfolk, and other Eastern points. Bennett, a lieutenant in the naval reserve, took a two weeks' naval training cruise on the USS Latimer.

cruise took 17' reserve officers and 200 reserve enlisted men to New York City where they were ashore for the weekend. They also visited the United Nations Building, Radio City and Coney Island. Bennett said the ships now have television, so the personnel may watch it when in port. Mrs. Bennett and sons vacationed at Virginia Beach, and visited many of the historic sites in that area.

Enroute home the Bennetts visited historic Jamestown and Williamsburg, Washington, D. and Mt. Vernon. WESLEY Mr. and Mrs, Art Haverly of Bloomer, and Father Pat Hallern of Sparta were guests in the Henry Haverly home several days recently.

Loses Finger in Freak Accident MANLY--Richard Mathaha has returned from Mercy Hospital, Mason City, where he submitted to amputation of a finger on the left hand. The accident happened at the Farmers Elevator here where ho is employed. As he alighted from a truck, he caught his finger by a ring he was wearing, lacerating it badly. KANAYVHA William Deibler, 89, is a patient in the Mercy Hospital, Mason City.
