Interment! was at Memorial Park cemetery, The McAuley and Son funerals home was in charge. i City Has Nod on 4th Parking Lot Negotiates for Holy Family Quarter Block Option on Old Church Calls for $30,000 The city council voted Tuesday night to exercise its option on the Holy Family church property at Washington and 2nd N. for a parking lot, provided financial arrangements can be made. The price was $30,000.

This will be the 4th parking lot the city has purchased. It consists of the property on which the oh church building and two houses stand. It is 165 feet by 132 feet. A. paving project along the wes side of the lagoon in Willowbrook addition was petitioned by the residents on the street, and thi Willowbrook Development assoct ation, with the cost of the paving to be assessed to the abuttini property.

Estimated at $13,208 The entire cost of the projec was estimated at- $13,208. Th HenkeT Construction company was named in the petition as the contractor. This project also includes 220 feet of storm sewer construe- tion and the work and specifications to be under the supervision of the city engineer. It does no include new curb and gutters. The council split over the pas sage of -a resolution of necessity improvement, and the his right to voti in the case of a tie for 'the firs time in many sessions.

Carl Parker appeared before th council and asked something be done in clearing the Willow creek channel to prevent future floods. He presented a petition signed by- many residents in tb Willow creek area. Decides on Fare The committee on the taxi ordinance reported it had decided tha the fare should be 35 cents for tin first mile or fraction thereof anc 10 cents for each additional hal mile or fraction thereof. All taxicabs are to be metered. An ordinance to this effect! will be presented to the council at its next session.

Purchase of a new type of collection boxes for parking meters and hew cart to simplify the col- ections from the meters was voted. This 'is the improved type now used by most cities and cost approximately $550. At the request of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the city again appropriated $500 for the annual Halloween party. A resolution accepting the work of oiling and re-oiling of streets, costing $8,378.98, was passed, and a bid for the installation of sani- ary sewer on 9th S. E.

Speaking sessions are planned each: Tuesday night throughout the coming season, according to Wan-en A. Ruby, president A special guest night is planned at the club's next Speakers on the Tuesday night program included Bob Fisher and Les Shepard, C. D. Hilton and Henry Hvattum gave reports on their attendance at the Toastmasters International convention San JJiego, Cal. Greater emphasis on the club's educational program was urged by Hilton, who this year is serving as district'governor of Toastmasters.

Clough, Mason City. Msgr. Flynn Dies in Denver Services to Be at Cedar Falls Friday Msgr. Leo J. Flynn, of -Holy Family parish in Denver, died Sunday in a hospital there following a long illness.

He was a brother of Miss Florence instructor in'Mason. City high school, who has-been in Denver with him. during' the 1 summer. Present also at Jus bedside were 'in Father Louis Edward Flynn, Belle Plaine. Msgr.

Flynn spent some time at one- of -the Rochester hospitals during'the latter part of his illness, "but never regained his health.
