MRS. CLYDE C. PHILLIPS By ELEANOR MeLAUGHLIN Woman's Page Editor Remember what your mother looked' like when you were in the first grade? Youngsters in Katinka Stoner's first grade at Washington School got busy with their water colors under the guidance of Mrs. Tom Swenson," art supervisor, and came up with some bright images of This grade has two pairs 'twins and in each instance the twins live, with their grandmothers. Upper left is Mrs.

Clyde'C. Phillips, grandmother of Eric and Derek Phillips. Mrs. gray hair, green-gray eyes and black rimmed glasses. She seldom wears earrings, but Eric put them on her.

He went for purple hair and green eyes. Derek made her a candidate for a wig with blue glasses and pink eyes. In both instances she's sort of round to them, although she is tall and slender. Dennis and Denise Free both saw their grandmother, Mrs. M.

H. Galloway, with glasses and gave her green eyes. Both gave her dark hair, although Dennis achieved a sort of polkadot effect. They like to have her wear necklaces and both painted these in for her. They were fairly accurate with her coloring.

"How did your mother look when you started t'o school this morning?" asked Mrs. Swenson. The first graders thought hard. "Was she she wave to you did she have her hair up in curlers?" This was good for'a laugh evidently how Mom looks with her hair up in rollers is a family joke. But none of the Moms had their hair in rollers when the young artists turned in their paintings.

Below is Sandra Frye working on the painting which is reproduced in color. She doesn't like her mother, Mrs. Dale Frye, to wear glasses, so she left 'them off and did some special work around the eyes. "You look funny in them," she says. Photos by Stewart JBARBARA FOLLMUTH AT EASEL MRS.
